Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) announced today that Fourth District middle and high school students can pre-register to enter the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. Hosted each year by the Congressional Internet Caucus, the challenge promotes innovation, engagement and excellence in computer science through student development of an application (“app”).
“I am excited to invite Fourth District middle and high school students to participate in this year’s Congressional App Challenge which gives students an opportunity to develop their skills in programming and invest in their future careers,” said Cole. “The STEM field is rapidly growing in our nation, and this is a wonderful way to engage Oklahoma students in science and technology. I am always impressed to see students’ creativity and technical skill when designing and programming their apps each year.”
Pre-registration is now open to students and the submissions portal will open June 15. Students can pre-register to participate at congressionalappchallenge.us. All entries must be original in concept, design and execution and will be judged and selected by a local panel of relevant experts. While students participating in this year’s challenge are encouraged to register online by early fall, the final deadline for entries is 11:00 a.m. CT on November 1, 2023.
