The East Central University baseball team hosted Ouachita Baptist University for the opening Great American Conference game of the series, falling to the purple Tigers by a final score of 13-3.
 
Ouachita began the scoring with a single run in the first, but ECU answered back in the home half after Duncan Key led off with a double, and Christian Whitaker’s single drove him home to tie the score 1-1.
 
In the second inning, Ouachita would regain the lead with another run before scoring three more in the fourth, five in the fifth, and one in the eighth to rack up an 11-1 advantage.
 
ECU picked up two runs in the eighth inning after Nolan Herchock’s 2 RBI single drove in Whitaker and pinch runner Cooper Hunt, but Ouachita added two runs of their own in the ninth to set the final score of 13-3.
 
Drake Sisemore took the loss, pitching three innings while giving up four runs on two hits.
 
Other Tigers to see action on the mound include Jarod Leroux, Ian Mason, Jagger Green, and Cayden Blanton.
 
Christian Whitaker led with two hits, while Duncan Key, Nolan Herchock, Kyle Busker, and Dione Allen had one.
