New transfer students to East Central University for the Spring 2023 semester have an opportunity to receive a $1,500 tuition scholarship.

“We understand ECU may not have been a student’s first choice, and that’s ok,” said Ashlee Heck, director of Admissions and Recruitment at ECU. “We’re still here and welcome them to ECU with this scholarship opportunity.”

The Transfer Scholarship includes $750 for the Spring 2023 semester and $750 for the Fall 2023 semester.

To be considered for the scholarship, a student must be an Oklahoma resident and be admissible to ECU as a transfer student, and that includes having completed 24 credit hours and earned a cumulative 2.0 GPA. Or, the student must meet one of the following: score a 20 on the ACT or a 1030 on the SAT, rank in the top 50% of graduating class with a 2.7 GPA, or have a 2.7 GPA in 15 units of core curricular courses.

Fulltime attendance is required for all scholarships, which is at least 12 hours for undergraduates, and 6 hours for graduates. As part of the application process, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA per semester to retain the scholarship.
