Murray State College Balance spurs Aggies by Arkansas Cossatot

Balance was once again the key as 13 Aggies got in the scoring column and Murray State improved to 2-0 on the season with an 88-58 blitzing of University of Arkansas Cossatot on Homecoming Friday at Beames Fieldhouse.

The Aggies pulled out to a 38-25 halftime lead before turning on the offensive assault over the final 20 minutes in a 50-point barrage to pull away.

A.J. Richard and Freddie Cooper each posted 13 points to spark the scoring burst Richard tallied eight in the opening half and Cooper reeled off a team-high 11 after the break. Kyle Tolbert also reached double digits with 10 points.

Jackson Lawley poured in eight with Dayten Holman, Ridley Shema, Brian Fuery and Kameron Johnson all notching seven points. K.J. Boone scored five, Tarrance Austin added four, Stanley Harley had three while Cordrayius Graham and T.J. Gardner each finished with two.

The Aggies open a five-game road swing on Sunday when they open the Mitchell/Mullen’s Elite 8 Classic in Edmond against Clarendon College in a 6 p.m. tipoff.
