A cold shooting third quarter and 21 turnovers proved costly as Southeastern dropped a 64-56 road matchup against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon in Weatherford, Okla.
 
The loss moves the Savage Storm to 4-11 overall on the season and 2-8 in Great American Conference play.
 
Briley Moon turned in a team-high 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting performance with three threes, while just missing out on a double-double with nine rebounds.
 
Caitlin Kobiske was next in line with 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting with four rebounds.
 
Lauryn Scalice added nine points off the bench with a pair of threes, while Abbie Barr put up eight and Grace Alverson dropped six.
 
Alverson and Barr each added five rebounds, while Alverson and Moon each handed out a team-leading three assists.
 
Southeastern jumped out to an early lead and would take a 14-6 lead at the 5:36 mark of the first quarter on a Moon transition three.
 
The Storm would maintain the lead, taking a 16-12 advantage to the first quarter break.
 
SE spread out the scoring in the second quarter, with five players connect on a field goal each, but SWOSU would close the gap and the Storm would lead 29-28 at the half.
 
The Storm shooting would chill in the third quarter, hitting just 27.3 percent, and an 8-2 Bulldog run in the third would give them the lead, but SE would score the final three points and trail 44-41 heading to the fourth quarter.
 
SWOSU would score the first six points of the fourth quarter, and the Storm deficit would reach as many as 11 points, but Southeastern would score five fo the final seven points but was unable to mount a rally in the 64-56 loss.
