Thirteen Aggies all got into the scoring action but tough shooting down the stretch, including just 8 of 17 shooting at the free throw for the game, proved costly as Murray State dropped a 68-63 men's basketball decision at Richland College on Wednesday afternoon.
Murray State connected on just five three-pointers but battled to a 32-all deadlock with the host Thunderducks through the opening 20 minutes. The Aggies were in front 57-53 with just over five minutes to play but managed only two baskets from Brian Fuery over a four-plus minute stretch which left the door open for a Richland comeback.
A.J. Richard led a balanced attack with 10 points for Murray State, which slipped to 6-6 on the season. Freddie Cooper pitched in nine, Cordrayius Graham scored eight, K.J. Boone and Riley Shema had five each with Fuery, T.J. Gardner, Stanley Harley and Kameron Johnson all adding four. Dayten Holman and Jackson Lawley finished with three apiece with Kyle Tolbert and Jaelen Tucker both tossing in two points.
