The Murray State Lady Aggies were in prime position for a big road upset of 25th ranked Grayson College through three quarters on Saturday before the wheels came off in a disastrous final stanza.
Grayson erased an eight-point deficit with a 26-6 scoring blitz over the final 10 minutes to claim a 75-63 victory. The Lady Aggies, 7-6, return home Tuesday for a final pre-Christmas break non-conference matchup with Panola College at 5:30.
Murray State was in firm command with an 18-12 lead after one period and 38-30 at halftime spurred by Jade Millan's 16 points before intermission. The two teams then played to a 19-19 even deadlock in the third before things went south for the Lady Aggies.
Scoring was in short supply for Coach Steve Lowe's squad as they mustered only two field goals and two free throws in the final stanza while the Lady Vikings were catching fire, including hitting five three-pointers during the decisive run.
Millan topped Murray State for the game with 20 points as Bella Peterson also pitched in double digits with 13. Reese Webb finished with nine points, Mattie Busby and Briana Knabe scored seven apiece, Payton James tossed in three as Lanie Gooch and Paige Taylor ended with two each.
