Every Lady Aggie in uniform got in on the scoring action as Murray State rode a red-hot start to a dominant 71-45 win over visiting Redlands Community College Monday night at Beames Fieldhouse.
With their fifth straight win, Murray State improved to 12-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play, remaining tied with Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa for the league lead.
"I thought we played really hard and was proud that every kid we had scored tonight," head coach Steve Lowe stated. "I feel like we are trending in the right way. Kids are making plays and we got off to another hot start tonight.
"It we can get balance like tonight I like where we are going. The biggest thing we have going for us right now is our defense. And as they say, defense will travel."
Bella Peterson was the early offensive catalyst with 10 first half points while Jade Millan chipped in a pair of three-pointers on the way to eight as Murray State carried a 39-25 cushion to intermission.
The balanced scoring charge carried over to the final two quarters while the Lady Aggies also yielded only 20 points following the break.
Peterson and Millan were the lone Lady Aggies in double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively. Remi Langmaid tossed in nine, Payton James and Reese Webb scored eight apiece, Paige Taylor notched six, Mattie Busby had five, Briana Knabe and Teniola Okunrinkoya contributed four apiece while Lanie Gooch and Cristina Laudin each posted two.
