Today, Congressman Tom Cole from Oklahoma's 4th District issued a statement following the U.S. Senate's approval of a full-year Continuing Resolution designed to maintain government operations. The measure now awaits President Trump's signature.

Cole expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, "House Republicans don't just act—we deliver for the American people. I’m proud the clean funding extension we led is now headed to President Trump’s desk." He emphasized that this legislative success was achieved by those who prioritized their constituents' needs.

The congressman criticized Democrats for attempting to politicize the issue, saying, "Ensuring our government remains open and working for the nation is not a partisan issue, but many Democrats made it one." He argued that efforts to instigate a shutdown were unsuccessful and did not resonate with public opinion.

Cole acknowledged those who supported the legislation across both chambers and credited key figures in its passage: "Thank you to those who voted for the legislation in each chamber, our members and staff—and most of all—the President and Vice President, who pushed the bill across the line."

Looking ahead, Cole called for bipartisan cooperation: "Republicans win when they stick together, Democrats are more effective when they negotiate rather than provoke partisan confrontations." He expressed his commitment to pursuing policies that contribute to America's prosperity.
