Congressman Tom Cole of Oklahoma's Fourth District has announced the allocation of substantial economic assistance for farmers. Through his legislative effort, the American Relief Act, Cole has secured a total of $10 billion for farmers nationally, of which more than $230 million is directed specifically towards Oklahoma's agricultural community.
"As a lifelong Oklahoman, I know firsthand just how important our farmers, ranchers, and producers are," stated Congressman Cole. He emphasized the significance of agriculture to the state's economy and the nation, expressing pride in securing these funds as a temporary solution until the new Farm Bill passes through Congress. He also credited House Agriculture Committee Chairman G.T. Thompson of Pennsylvania and former Chairman Frank Lucas of Oklahoma for their support in channeling the funds towards benefiting rural economic producers.
Farmers seeking to apply for assistance must submit their Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP) applications to their local Farm Service Agency county office by August 15, 2025. Submissions can be made in person, electronically, by fax, or online at the FSA website using a secure login. Necessary forms, such as the Customer Data Worksheet and various certifications, must be on file, especially if not submitted for the 2024 crop year.
Further inquiries about applications can be directed to local FSA offices. Farmers who do not receive an ECAP pre-filled application but are eligible should also reach out to their local FSA.
Future announcements promise additional disaster assistance for Oklahoma.
