Murray State College Coppedge Returns Home as Murray State Golf Coach

Luke Coppedge has returned home to Murray State College as the new golf coach.

Coppedge played on the Murray State College inaugural golf team in fall of 2011. The team went to nationals during his time. Moving on, he attended Southern Nazarene University to earn his bachelor’s degree.

Golf was still in his blood, leading him to coach high school golf and then be the men’s head coach for three years at Oklahoma Baptist University.

“I enjoy watching students grow in their personalities and skills,” said Coppedge. “I’ve coached a wide range of students and it never gets old. Each person learns in a different way, and so I try to adapt to that.”

Coppedge is a Tishomingo native. He and his wife have three sons. He is excited to return home and keep doing what he’s always known and done – golf.

“It’s always good to see former Aggies return home and want to be involved,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “It’s even better when one of those was on Murray’s inaugural golf team. Luke knows all the ins-and-outs of golf, and we know his skills and passion will bring success to the teams.”
