Freshman Mia King saved all five shot attempts by Crowder and the Murray State Lady Aggies utilized a ball-controlling attack to forge a 3-0 victory Wednesday over the visitors from Missouri.
Coach Gary Akin's club dominated possession time most of the contest and were able to get a couple of first-half goals to take command while winning their third game in the past four outings to improve to 3-5 on the season.
Kelsey Cooper punched through the first goal off an assist by Myah Evans and Aimee Steele notched the second with a Cooper assist to make it a 2-0 Murray State lead at intermission.
Things continued much the same over the final half with the Lady Aggies adding an insurance goal by Kaylee Foster while throwing the shutout.
"The girls did a great job controlling the game and dominating possession," Akin commented. "We continued to dominate possession in the second half, controlling the ball and got a final goal. The defense did a great job limiting Crowder's offensive opportunities and Mia King was outstanding in goal."
The Lady Aggies are scheduled to be back on the road Wednesday for their next action at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami
