Freddie Cooper poured in a season-high 25 points to lead four Aggies in double figures as Murray State toppled Clarendon College, 69-62, on Sunday night in the opening game of the Mitchell/Mullen's Elite 8 Classic in Edmond.
The Aggies got off to a strong start, forcing 20 turnovers and turning several of those into transition points while upping their record to 3-0 on the young season.
Cooper hit four three-pointers in his scoring barrage and also pulled down seven rebounds, which tied for team-high honors. Stanley Harley contributed 13 points on five of 10 shooting and added three steals. A.J. Richard also pitched in 12 points, seven boards and four steals while Brian Fuery rounded out the double figure contributors with 10 points and six rebounds.
Cordrayius Graham notched four points, K.J. Boone and T.J. Gardner had two apiece and Ridley Shema scored one for the Aggies.
