Mattie Busby and Jade Millan combined for seven three-pointers and Briana Knabe provided key free throws to help lift Murray State to a 57-52 win over Panola College in women's basketball action Tuesday afternoon at Beames Fieldhouse.
Coach Steve Lowe's Lady Aggies built a 29-25 halftime edge spurred by 11 points from Millan before the break. They continued to hold off the visitors with a 28-27 scoring advantage following intermission as Busby caught fire with nine points and Knabe notched seven.
With the victory the Lady Aggies improved to 8-6 going into the holiday break with their next action slated for Friday, January 6 when they host National Park College.
Busby topped three Murray State players in double figures with 16 points for the game as Millan connected for 14 and Knabe finished with 12. Bella Peterson tossed in six points, Lanie Gooch had five, Reese Webb scored two while Payton James and Remi Langmaid each contributed a point.
