Sophomore Briana Knabe sank two free throws with two seconds remaining to cap a wild fourth quarter and give the Murray State Lady Aggies a dramatic 63-62 conference win at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Saturday afternoon.
The victory was the Lady Aggies ninth in a row as they improved to 16-6 overall and 8-1 in league play to remain in first place in the standings.
Murray State led 44-34 heading into the fourth quarter when the host Lady Norsemen caught fire, sinking five three-pointers on the way to 28 points in the period. NEO held a 62-61 edge with two seconds left but committed a turnover on a violation in the backcourt and was issued a technical foul.
Knabe, who pumped in 15 of her team's 19 points in the final stanza, calmly connected on both charity tosses for the decisive points. The Lady Aggie leading scorer finished with a game-high 26 in the contest, including a pivotal three-point play with two minutes remaining, and was the only Murray State player to reach double figures.
Reese Webb posted nine points, Remi Langmaid and Jade Millan tossed in eight apiece, Mattie Busby added five, Lanie Gooch and Bella Peterson both contributed three and Payton James had one point.
