On the eve of the 2022-23 Women's Basketball Great American Conference Championship, the East Central University women's basketball team saw three players claim GAC honors as the league announced its all-conference teams and yearly award winners on Wednesday.
- Mackenzie Crusoe – All-GAC Second Team / Distinguished Scholar
- Gabby Cummins – Elite Scholar
- Izzy Cummins – Elite Scholar
Crusoe earned All-GAC Second Team honors for the second-straight season while the Cummins sisters were also named GAC Elite Scholar-Athletes for the second year in a row.
This season, Crusoe has amassed 346 points, averaging 13.3 points per game, while contributing in nearly every other stat category. She leads the team in rebounds, assists, and total minutes with 162, 81, and 875, respectively. Her performance ranks her No. 10 in the league in assists and No. 8 in minutes played. Crusoe was also honored as a GAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete, which is rewarded to athletes that advanced to the postseason tournament and have a 3.7 GPA or higher.
Gabby Cummins and Izzy Cummins represented ECU as two of six total GAC Elite Scholar-Athletes. This is the most prestigious accolade to receive as it is only given to those that advanced to the 2022-23 tournament with the highest GPA. Both Gabby and Izzy had perfect 4.0 GPA's.
