The Aggies scored the first run of the game but third-ranked LSU-Eunice plated nine unanswered to take a commanding lead as 10th rated Murray State dropped an 11-4 road verdict on Friday night to snap a 10-game winning streak.
Murray State managed just five hits in the nine-inning contest as ace Colby Langford was tagged with the pitching loss, yielding eight runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and two walks in three frames of work.
Gage Gilchrist opened the game with a solo home run over the centerfield wall as the Aggies posted two of the hits in that frame. Eunice answered with two in the bottom of the stanza and then plated six runs in the third highlighted by a grand slam.
The Aggies broke out of a five inning scoring drought with three tallies in the seventh frame. Trace Necessary led off with a home run before three walks loaded the bases with one out. Ashton Inman produced a two-out single for an RBI and Murray added a third run on a Eunice error.
Inman finished with three of the five Aggie hits on the night as they slipped to 15-3 on the season.
Murray State faces East Central Mississippi College at noon Saturday for its next action.
