Clay Jung's walkoff two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth rallied 10th ranked Murray State to a 9-8 baseball win over East Central Mississippi College Saturday afternoon in Eunice, Louisiana.

Jung's blast helped finish off a wild Aggie comeback from an early 6-0 deficit as they improved to 16-3 on the season heading into a Sunday rematch with LSU-Eunice to close out the road trip.

Trailing 6-0 in the second stanza, Murray State began the comeback with a Wilbert Espinal two-run homer over the rightfield wall in the bottom half of the frame.

Still down 7-2 in the third, Jung belted his first homer of the day to plate a pair of Aggie runs. They plated two more in the fifth when Patrick McCullough drove in one with a single and Espinal got the other RBI with a bases loaded hit by pitch.

The Aggies finally evened things in the sixth as Brady Benedict singled and rode home on a Garrett Gruell two-out hit.

It remained knotted at 7-7 until an East Central run in the top of the ninth. That was short-lived however as Gruell coaxed a walk to start the bottom of the frame and Jung followed with the game-winning smash over the rightfield wall.

Jung's heroics made a pitching winner of Nathan Darden, who yielded one run on three hits over the final three innings.

Murray State ended with 13 hits in the contest, fueled by three singles by McCullough. Jung drove in four with his two hits, Gage Gilchrist also pitched in two hits, including a double, and Benedict also finished with a pair. Espinal picked up three RBI and had his one home run.
