Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04), member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, today congratulated the University of Oklahoma for being selected to receive a Defense Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (DEPSCoR) grant of up to $600,000 from the U.S. Department of Defense. The University of Oklahoma was one of 28 academic teams across the nation to be selected for this grant and will use the funds to study the transport of multivalent ions in thermoresponsive ionogel electrolytes from lyotropic liquid crystals.
“I’m delighted that the University of Oklahoma has received this important grant,” said Cole. “As only one of 28 programs to receive this award, it shows the dedication and drive OU has to research. The continued national competitiveness of OU on cutting edge research to advance national security interests is certainly commendable.”
