2021 has 6.3% of Johnston County residents unemployed

Johnston County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 267 people out of the 10,446 living in Johnston County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Johnston County has decreased compared to the 6.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Johnston County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5%.

Of the 3,959 people who had a job during that time, 6 were employed in the Armed Forces and 3,953 belonged to the civilian labor force.
