Congressman Tom Cole has announced the winners of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Oklahoma's Fourth District. Andrew Zhang from Norman North High School and Albert Tang from Marriots Ridge High School were recognized for their app, "VideoWise." This competition encourages students to develop applications using programming languages across various platforms.
"VideoWise" is designed to simplify and summarize YouTube videos by utilizing Artificial Intelligence capabilities. The app aims to enhance online learning by addressing common issues such as misleading video titles and lengthy tutorials.
Congressman Cole expressed his enthusiasm for the winners, stating, “I am very excited to announce Andrew and Albert as the winners of this year’s Congressional App Competition. The students demonstrated their creativity skills and knowledge, as well as impressive coding skills, through the creation of this app. I am confident that they both have bright futures ahead of them.”
The creators shared their motivation behind "VideoWise," explaining that they aimed to improve online learning experiences. They noted challenges like misleading video titles and unnecessarily long tutorials inspired them to create a tool that allows users to find specific moments in videos quickly.
Andrew Zhang and Albert Tang are eager to continue developing "VideoWise" and share it with learners globally.
