Washington, D.C. – Today, on National Agriculture Day, Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) expressed his gratitude towards farmers in a statement. Cole, a lifelong Oklahoman, highlighted the significance of farmers in the state by stating, “Agriculture really is such a large part of life in our state, and our farmers truly are essential to not only Oklahoma, but to the entire nation.”
Cole emphasized Oklahoma's agricultural achievements, noting, "Oklahoma ranks first in the nation in the production of rye, third in the nation in the production of wheat, fifth in the production of cattle, sixth in the production of pecans and grain sorghum, seventh in peanuts, and twelfth in watermelon." He further added, "Today, on National Agriculture Day, I want to make sure that our nation’s farmers receive the recognition and thanks they deserve for all they do to put food on our tables and fuel the American people."
