Washington, D.C. – Today, at the start of National Teacher Appreciation Week, Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) expressed his gratitude towards teachers across the nation.
In a statement, Congressman Cole acknowledged the profound impact teachers have on students' lives, stating, "As a lover of learning, former college professor in history and politics, and father of a public-school teacher, it is not lost on me the influence a teacher can have on a student’s life. Teachers, principals, and educators alike care for America’s children, have a large impact on the way future generations think, and educate our nation’s future leaders."
He continued by emphasizing the importance of recognizing and celebrating the hard work and dedication of teachers, especially during National Teacher Appreciation Week, saying, "During this National Teacher Appreciation Week, we honor and celebrate America’s teachers for all they do to educate, nurture, and inspire their students. They truly play such a pivotal role in our great nation, and, today, I would like to say to them – thank you."
As the nation commemorates the contributions of teachers, Congressman Cole's words serve as a reminder of the vital role educators play in shaping the minds and futures of the next generation.
