Congressman Tom Cole of Oklahoma's Fourth District has expressed his support for H.R. 8371, known as the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act. The bill aims to enhance and reform services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
In a statement following his vote in favor of the legislation, Congressman Cole emphasized the importance of honoring those who have served in the armed forces. "Since the founding of our nation, countless brave men and women have answered the call to serve our nation in the armed forces. Nothing short of heroes, we can truly never do enough to adequately honor them," he said.
Cole highlighted that the bill seeks to prioritize veterans, their families, and survivors over bureaucratic processes. He stated, "The Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act will help to do just that by enhancing and reforming the delivery of services at the VA by ultimately putting our veterans, their families, and their survivors – not bureaucracy – first."
Representing more than 58,000 veterans in his district, Congressman Cole reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for veteran-related issues. "As the Representative for over 58,000 veterans in Oklahoma’s Fourth District, I will always look out for our nation’s veterans, and I am very glad to see this bill pass the House Floor today," he concluded.
