Last week, Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) attended the groundbreaking for Memorial Health of Tillman County Critical Access Hospital in Frederick, Oklahoma. He secured direct government funding for the project. Following the event, Congressman Cole released a statement.
“For rural communities, like many of the areas in Oklahoma I represent, healthcare access is restricted due to limited competition and long travel times to the nearest medical center. However, as government representatives, it is crucial that we support America’s rural communities by improving healthcare capabilities in these areas,” said Congressman Cole.
“This is why I am very proud to announce that I was able to secure about $6 million in congressional appropriations funding to bring a very critical hospital back to Tillman County. This hospital will restore access to healthcare for residents of Southwest Oklahoma, as well as create jobs and economic opportunity, and I am excited to see the incredible impact it has on the community,” he added.
