Congressman Tom Cole of Oklahoma's 4th District has voted in favor of the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025. The legislation aims to provide a pay raise for servicemembers, counter Chinese aggression, restore military lethality, defend Israel, fund military construction projects, support border security operations, and address waste and fraud at the Pentagon.
Following the House of Representatives' approval of the FY25 NDAA, Congressman Cole issued a statement emphasizing the importance of national security amid growing challenges. "Every day, challenges and threats against the United States continue to increase. Therefore, during a tumultuous time like this, it is crucial that we prioritize our nation’s security in order to protect the American people. Today, with these threats in mind, I cast my vote to ensure exactly that," he stated.
Cole further highlighted the benefits of the legislation for servicemembers and taxpayers: "This legislation will guarantee our courageous servicemembers have the resources they need to be fully prepared and ready to respond when called upon. It also enhances the quality of life for our military personnel and introduces much-need oversight at the Pentagon, which will save taxpayers money."
Expressing pride in supporting the bill on the House Floor, Cole remarked on its broader implications: "I am very proud to have supported the FY25 NDAA on the House Floor today as it sends a powerful message to our adversaries: The United States stands strong, and our men and women in uniform are ready and equipped to defend our nation and its people if necessary."
